On Friday, September 13th from 7PM-10PM Sky Candy presented “Live at the UMLAUF” a delightful evening with the mission for 2020 of expanding partial and full schorlarships from 5% to 20% for the Sky Camp Summer Program to foster families in need. The event raised over $15,000 in ticket sales, and brought in 3/4 of their goal! If you would like to help Sky Candy, you can make a fully tax deductible donation to the fiscal sponsor, the Austin Creative Alliance, a 501(c)3 arts advocacy group. You can submit your donation to the 2020 Youth Scholarship Fund by selecting Sky Candy from Austin Creative Alliance’s list of sponsored projects.
The event showcased the stunning performances of Sarah Sparkles on lyra, Amylou Cox & Friends, Esquina Tango and Connor Bell with Jennifer Simonds on silks, John Gable with Amy Myers on hammock, Jennie Guillot on hammock, performance and dance of Katie Navarro on Lyra, and Lola (Local Opera artist) with Julia Kennelly on trapeze.
The event included a VIP area, Ze Wurst food truck, Drink Slingers bar, Fancy Tom portraits, Killer Queen designs, tarot reading, and a silent auction.
The Food & Drink Sponsors included: Treaty Oak Distilling, Total Wine & Spirits, Uroko, The Front Page, Sweet Charli Girl, PrettyThai, Richard’s Rainwater, Zhi Tea, and Austin Beerworks.
Live at the UMLAUF was one of the first new series that focused on relieving the arts venue crisis in Austin while creating new connections, utilizing the UMLAUF Garden in new and different ways, and providing high quality entertainment for Austinites.
